የኛ ሀገር ፖለቲካ የቡዳ ፖለቲካ ነው እንዳሉት ፕሮፌሰር መረራ ጉዲና አሁንም ድጋሚ ፖለቲካችንን ቡዳ ሊበላው ነው መሰል ጣት መቀሳሰር እና እነ እንትና እነ እንትና መባባል ልንጀምር ይመስላል… ምናባቱ እንግዲህ ካልደፈረሰ አይጠራም…
ጃዋር ሰሞኑን ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ በዋሽንግተን ዲሲ ካደረጉት ንግግር በኋላ በአራት ጉድዮች ላይ አስተያየት ሰጥቷል። ካነሳቸው ሃሳቦች ውስጥ በተወሰነ ደረጃ የምስማማባቸው ሃሳቦች ቢኖሩኝም በርካታ የማልስማማባቸው ሃሳቦችም አሉ። ከሁሉ ከሁሉ ግን በትልቁ የማልስማማበት፤ ኦሮሞ በሙሉ ተመሳሳይ ነው ብሎ ሁሉንም ኦሮሞዎች በአንድ ቅርጫት ውስጥ ለማስቀመጥ የሚሞክረው ነገር ሁልጊዜም በጣም የሚያበሳጨኝ ነው። (እነደሱ አባባል እርሱ በሚለው የማይስማማ ኦሮሞ ኦሮሞ አይደለም (ሲያናድድ!))
እኛ ኦሮሞዎች ሰዎች ነን። ምንም እንኳ የሰው ልጆች በሙሉ በፍጥረታቸው አንድ ናቸው ቢባልም፤ በአስተሳሰብ እና በአመለካከት ግን አንድ አይነት መሆን አይችሉም። ሁሉም ሰው የየራሱ አመለካከት እንዳለው ሁሉ፤ ኦሮሞዎችም የየራሳችን አመለካከት አለን። እኛ በፋብሪካ የተመረትን ሮቦቶች አይደለንም። የተለያየ አመለካከት የተለያየ አስተሳሰብ፣ የተለያየ የምፍትሄ አቅጣጫ፣ የተለያየ ምኞት እና ፍላጎት ያለን ሰዎች ነን። ይሄ ሰው በመሆናችን የተሰጠንም ጸጋ ነው። ጃዋር ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ፤ ‘’ከለዘብተኛ ኦሮሞዎች ጋር አብረን እየሰራን ነው’’ ማለቱን ተከትሎ በኦሮሞ ውስጥ ለዘብተኛ አክራሪ የለም ብሎ ይሞግተናል። ሞልቶ! በሁሉም ማህበረሰብ ውስጥ በአንድ ጉዳይ ላይ አክራሪ እና ለዘብተኛ እንዳለው ሁሉ በኦሮሞ ማህበረሰብ ውስጥም ይሄ አለ። ወደፊትም ይኖራል።
ለምሳሌ ያክልም፤ ራሱ ከጃዋር እና የመሳሰሉት ኦሮሚያ የኦሮሞ ናት ሲሉን እየሰማን ነው። በነገራችን ላይ የ ‘የ’ እና የ ’ለ’ ነገር በትርጉሙ ላይ ምንም የሚያመጣው ለውጥ የለም። ኦሮሚያ ለኦሮሞ ናት ተባለም ኦሮሚያ የኦሮሞ ናት ተባለም ምንም የፍቺ ልዩነት የላቸውም። (ወዳጃችን ጃዋር ኦሮሚያ ለኦሮሞ ናት አላልኩም ኦሮሚያ የኦሮሞ ናት ነው ያልኩት ሲል አይቼ ባውጠነጥን ባውጠነጥን ምንም ልዩነት አላየሁበትም።) የሆነው ሆኖ ጃዋር እንደሚያስበው ይሄ አስተሳሰብ የሁሉም ኦሮሞዎች አስተሳሰብ ነው። በኦሮሚያ የተነሳው ተቃውሞም ዋና ሃሳብ ይሄ ነው ይለናል።
እኛ ጃዋር ኦሮሞ አይደለም ብለን አንከራከርም። ነገር ግን እርሱ ብቻ ሳይሆን እኛም ኦሮሞዎች ነን። እንደኛ አስተሳሰብ ኦሮሚያ የመላው ኢትዮጵያዊ መላው ኢትዮጵያም የኦሮሞ ናት። እንኳንስ ኦሮሚያ እና ብሪታኒያ እና አሜሪካንን የመሳሰሉት ሀገሮች እንኳን የብርትሾች እና የአሜሪካኖች አይደሉም፤ የሁላችንም ናቸው እንጂ! (ምንም እንኳ እንደ ዶናልድ ትራምፕ አይነት ቀውሶች ይሄ አሳብ ቅዠት ቢመስላቸውም አሁን አለም ባለችበት ደረጃ ግን ማንም ሰው የሀገሪቱን ህግ እና ደንብ አክብሮ እስከኖረ ድረስ ሁሉም ሀገር የሁሉም ነው። በዛ መሰረት ነው ጃዋርም ሆነ እኔ በአሜሪካ እና እንግሊዝ የምንኖረው!)
በኦሮሚያ ክልል የተነሳው ተቃውሞ ዋና ማጠንጠኛ ኦሮሞ ዘመዶቻችን አንድም በገዛ ወገኖቻቸው፤ (በኦህዴድ አባላት) አንድም ከፌደራል በሚሄዱት እነ አባይ ጸሃዬ የሚደርስባቸው ስር የሰደደ በደል ሞልቶ ስለፈሰሰ ነው፤ እንጂ ኦሮሚያ ለኦሮሞ ትሁን በሚል አይደለም። እንደዚ የሚሉ ቢኖሩም እንኳ በኔ አስተሳሰብ ስህተት ውስጥ እየገቡ ነው። ማንም ሰው በአግባቡ እና በደንቡ መሰረት እስከተንቀሳቀሰ ድረስ (በእግር ኳስ ቋንቋ ፌር ፕሌይ እስከተጫወተ) ሁሉም ሃገር የርሱ ነው። ኦሮሚያን ጨምሮ። ብቻ ገበሬዎችን ያለአግባብ አያፈናቅል። ብቻ ገበሬውን በገዛ መሬቱ ላይ ከአምራችነት ወደ ዘበኛነት አይቀይር እንጂ!
አሁን ኢህአዴግ እየፈጸመ ያለው ዘረፋ በኦሮሚያ ላይ ነውር ነው! በትግራይም ላይ ሲፈጸም ብልግና ነው! በአማራ ክልልም ሲደረግ ጸያፍ ነው።
ይልቅስ ጃዋር በብሄር ስለመደራጀት ያነሳው ነገር ላይ እስማማለሁ። ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ ይሄ የኔ አመለካከት ነው ብለው በነገሩን መሰረት የብሄር ወይም ዘውጌ ፖለቲካዊ ስብስብ አይመስጣቸውም ብቻ ሳይሆን አፍራሽ ነው ሲሉም ኮንነውታል። በርግጥ ‘’እባብን ያየ በልጥ ይደነግጣል’’ እንዲሉ አሁን አሁን እየሆነ እንዳለው ነገር የብሄር አደረጃጀቶች የሚያስፈራ ነገር አላቸው። ቢሆንም ግን አፍራሽ ናቸው ብሎ ድምዳሜ ላይ መድረስ ከባድ ነው። ሰዎች በመሰላቸው መልኩ የመደራቸት እና የመታገል መብታቸው በጽኑ ሊከበር ይገባል። በሰለጠኑት ሃገራት በብሄር የተደራጁ ፓርቲዎች ለዴሞክራሲ ግንባታ አፍራሽ ሚና ሲጫወቱ አላየንም። እንደ ምሳሌም ስኮቲሽ ናሽናል ፓርቲ በ ዩናይትድ ኪንግደም ፖለቲካ ውስጥ ያለውን ተሳትፎ ማየት ይቻላል። እኛም ሃገር ቢሆን ፖለቲካችን አፍራሽ ሚና የሚኖረው ከአያያዛችን እንጂ ከአደረጃጀታችን አይመስለኝም። (እንደውም ከቤተሰብ ጉባኤ አንስቶ ብብሄር መደራጀት ተፈጥሯዊ ነው ብዬ አስባለሁ…. አፍራሽ የሚሆነው ክኔ ብሄር በላይ ላሳር ማለት ሲጀመር ነው! እሱን የሚገራ ሀገር አቀፍ ህግ መኖር ይኖርበታል!)

I think, Abebe is intentionally distorting Prof Berhanu’s statement. If the people prefer to freely organise themselves along ethnic lines, no one should be concerned. The problem arises when the choices are restricted in that the government or intellegensia makes it difficult for other alternatives to be formed and evolve. Comparing the Ethiopian situation with british context doesn’t make sense at all. I would have probably paid more attention, had Abebe’s example been Kenya, where parties are deeply riven along ethnic lines and the number of political parties is greater than the total number of ethnic groups.

Hillary Clinton and the Syrian Bloodbath

” In 2012, Clinton was the obstacle, not the solution, to a ceasefire being negotiated by UN Special Envoy Kofi Annan. It was US intransigence – Clinton’s intransigence – that led to the failure of Annan’s peace efforts in the spring of 2012, a point well known among diplomats. Despite Clinton’s insinuation in the Milwaukee debate, there was (of course) no 2012 ceasefire, only escalating carnage. Clinton bears heavy responsibility for that carnage, which has by now displaced more than 10 million Syrians and left more than 250,000 dead.
As every knowledgeable observer understands, the Syrian War is not mostly about Bashar al-Assad, or even about Syria itself. It is mostly a proxy war, about Iran. And the bloodbath is doubly tragic and misguided for that reason.
Saudi Arabia and Turkey, the leading Sunni powers in the Middle East, view Iran, the leading Shia power, as a regional rival for power and influence. Right-wing Israelis view Iran as an implacable foe that controls Hezbollah, a Shi’a militant group operating in Lebanon, a border state of Israel. Thus, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel have all clamored to remove Iran’s influence in Syria. ”
