Above all that is symbolic.
And the scene is supposed to influence Ethiopians in favour of the vatican and ferenjis. That means, Ethiopians should accept the vatican as the leader church. They want the EOTC to submit to the vatican. The vatican has been attempting the same towards the european Orthodox churches.
All that also tells us about one of the reasons why ferenjis brought TPLF to power in Ethiopia in 1991 G.C..

The Vatican knows very well that catholicism has long lost steam in the West and is continuing to decline in Europe. A century ago, 65% of the world catholics lived in Europe. Today Europe is home to only 24% of the world catholic population. That is why the church is working very hard to expand its influence in the developing world: Africa, Asia & Latin America. It is also not a coincidence that the current pope is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I don’t also expect to see a Western pope in the next four or five decades.
While Latinos and partly Asians have a long history of catholisim, the religion has now started to explosively grow in Africa and the Vatican is using all kinds of tricks to expand its foothold in the continent. For instance, African parishes are encouraged to depict Jesus as being black; non-compliance to celibacy is tolereated; the pope recently visited CAR, Uganda and Kenya where he involved himself with the continent’s social, political and environmental issues; the vatican keeps expanding church related NGOs and jobs…
Within this context, softening the relationship with Ethiopian orthodox Church is more advantageous to the vatican than it is to EOTC.

What we see here and other observations make the ferenji agenda in Ethiopia clear when USA and co. installed their buchila TPLF:
1. destruction of Ethiopian culture,
2. destruction of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church,
3. destruction of the Amharic language,
4. destruction of the Geez Alphabet,
5. replacement of them by ferenji culture, ferenji churches like protestantism and catholicism, ferenji languages like english and the ferenji latin alphabet.
Well, but tenkolegnochu ferenjoch have a few problems, like :

My information is due to credibility problems as a result of the many scandals (child abuse, gayism, money laundering etc) the vatican is losing members in Africa and other regions.
And in Africa more and more people are turning to traditional religions. I think here is a great opportunity for EOTC.
If there are strategists in Africa with pan-Africanist views they should design plans how to use the EOTC to construct an African empire. The opportunity is there following the many scandals of the vatican. And through mass conversions the EOTC could win hundreds of millions of new members, and at the same time it would help to create an empire.
Vatican’s crises are an excellent opportunity to mass convert 500 million African catholics to followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

Unless you want to doctor the data or go back to the 1960 and 1970 censuses, the reality is protestants and muslims are currently the fastest growing religious groups in Ethiopia. This is fact and my personal preference doesn’t matter. There has been only a handful of Roman Catholic followers and I don’t think the trend will change anytime in the future. I hope you don’t count Rastafarian, which is a sect and never recognized by EOTC.
The oriental and eastern orthodox churches you listed above are independent dominations and have fundamental theological differences from EOTC. BTW, you missed Syiran, Jordan, Lebanon, Cyprus, Romania, Slovenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenian, Macedonia, Latvia, Lithuanua & Indian orthodox churches that house significant number of orthodox christians.

I believe this is one of the dietary observations based on jewish kosher law and greek, egypt, EOTC and seven-day adventist churches observe the tradition. Read also Leviticus 11:7-8, Deuteronomy 14:8, Isaiah 65:2-5.
Considering the visions of Peter in which God commands him to eat of all things, I don’t think restricting food choices is a law similar to circumcision. However, pigs are truly unclean as they scavenge, don’t chew the cud and their meat carries loads of parasites and toxics. It makes scientifically a lot of sense to avoid eating pork along with all other nonruminants and scavengers. Personally, I don’t eat pork.

Of course using common sense and based on what we know in the meantime we can speculate.
We can assume that the real reason USA started supporting the TPLF and EPLF rebels was not to end the war as we were misinformed on CIA/Shabia mouthpiece ESAT, but to implement a hostile USA plan that the country had prepared perhaps since the 1970s G.C. or earlier.
The motive behind the plan could have been revenge and the goal TO REVERSE ALL PROGRESS Haile Selassie made in border and territory matters since 1945 G.C. as an ally of the USA.
Remember, USA managed to reverse the Ethiopia-Eritrea union in 1991 G.C. that Haile Selassie had achieved with USA support, i guess in the late 1940s G.C.. In return Haile Selassie allowed USA to build bases in Eritrea. 4. Support for Chinese membership in the UNO instead of Taiwan that USA and ferenjis had preferred.
The United Nations Resolution 2758, passed in October 25, 1971 G.C., recognized the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as “the only legitimate representative of China to the United Nations” and expelled “the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations”.
