የድህነት ዘበኛ

የቀድሞ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር መለስ ዜናዊ የደርግ ሥርዓት መገርሰሱን በማስመልከት ያስተላለፉትን መልዕክት ሰምቼ ነበር። መልዕክቱ ባጭሩ እንዲህ የሚል ነበር። “የድህነት ዘበኛ የነበረው ሥርዓት ስለተወገደ ከዚህ በኋላ ጦርነታችሁ ከዘበኛው ጋር ሳይሆን ቀጥታ ከጠላቱ (ድህነት) ጋር ነው።” በእርግጥ ደርግ ሥልጣን ላይ በነበረበት ጊዜ ”ሁሉም ነገር ወደ ጦር ግንባር!” እያለ ሕዝቡ በድህነት እንዲማቅቅ አድርጓል። ከዚህ የተነሳ የሥርዓቱ መውደቅ ብዙዎችን በደስታ አስፈንጥዟል።
USA based Ethiopians have serious constraints when they write about Ethiopian politics. In their minds they have what could be called a “forbidden zone”, like issues connected to USA, CIA, ferenjis etc.
But one can not write about Ethiopian politics without discussing the roles of the above mentioned entities. That would be like talking about war and not mentioning bombs and soldiers, like in an article with the title “Why does Meles hate Ethiopia ?” where it was not discussed who brought Meles to power, namely yachi yeteregemech Telat Amerika or CIA.
So regarding the issue of poverty one has to discuss the USA world order that was founded in 1945, IMF, world bank, USA foreign policy that among others aimed to keep Africa poor and of course the CIA.
So i would start with USA’s and ferenjis’ or West’s containment policy towards Ethiopia since the era of Haile Selassie or earlier. That policy was also the reason why USA brought Meles to power in Ethiopia, landlocked Ethiopia, blocked loans for dams in Ethiopia etc.
