ሰላማችንን ራሳችን እንጠብቃለን:: “ያለ ህግ አግባብ የታሰሩ ሰዎች በአስቸኳይ ይፈቱ” = አባገዳዎች
ከኦሮሚያ የተለያዩ አካባቢዎች የተሠባሠቡ አባገዳዎች በክልሉ ባለው ተቃውሞና ግጭት ሳቢያ የበርካታ ሰዎች ህይወት እየጠፋ መሆኑን በመግለፅ ችግሩን ለመቅረፍ ይቻል ዘንድ በውይይት መንግስት እንዲያነጋግራቸው ጠይቀዋል፡፡
ከነሐሴ 23 ቀን ጀምሮ ለሦስት ቀናት በሶደሬ ሆቴልና ሪዞርት ከ2 ሺ በላይ የሀገር ሽማግሌዎችና ሴቶች ባካሄዱት የ3 ቀን ጠቅላላ ጉባኤ በክልሉ ባለው ተቃውሞና ግጭት ዙሪያ ከተወያዩ በኋላ ባለ 13 ነጥብ የአቋም መግለጫ አውጥተዋል፡፡
የፌዴራል መንግስት ጦር የሃገሪቱን ዳር ድንበር የመጠበቅ ስራውን ትቶ በክልሉ መስፈሩን የጠቆሙት አባገዳዎች፤ ጦሩ የህዝቡን ቋንቋ የማያወቅ በመሆኑ ከፍተኛ ችግር መፍጠሩን በመግለፅ በአስቸኳይ ከክልሉ እንዲወጣ ጠይቀዋል። ሰላማችንን ራሳችን እንጠብቃለን በማለት፡፡
“የጦር ሰራዊቱ ኦሮሚኛ ቋንቋን ስለማያውቅ ከህብረተሰቡ ጋር በቅጡ እየተግባባ አይደለም፤ ክልሉን በአፋጣኝ ለቆ እንዲወጣ እንጠይቃለን” ብለዋል የቱለማ አባገዳ በየነ ሰንበቶ፡፡
አብዛኛው የኦሮሞ ማህበረሠብ አባገዳዎች ጋር እየቀረበ፣ የደረሰበትን በደል እየተናገረ መሆኑን የጠቀሱት አባገዳው፣ ግጭቶችን ተከትለው የኦሮሞ ልጆች ከፍተኛ ጉዳት እየደረሰባቸው መሆኑን ገልፀዋል፡፡ “በኦሮሞ ባህል እንኳን የሰው ልጅ የበሬ ደም እንኳ ያለ ስርአት አይፈስም ብለዋል፡፡
በቅርቡ ከጠ/ሚኒስትሩ ጋር በክልሉ ችግሮች ዙሪያ ተወያይተው መስተካከል ያለባቸውን ነገሮች መጠቆማቸውን የገለፁት አባ ገዳው፤ ጠ/ሚኒስትሩም ችግሩን እናስተካክላለን ብለው እንደነበርና እስካሁን አለመስተካከሉን ጠቁመዋል፡፡ “ሀገራችንን ውድቀት ላይ ይጥላል፣ ሀገር የጋራ ነው፤ የእርስዎም አይደለችም፤ አለበለዚያ ይህቺ ሀገር ሃገር ሆና አትቀጥልም ብለን ነግረናቸዋል” ብለዋል አባገዳዎች በመግለጫቸው፡፡
“አባ ገዳ ማለት እርቅ ማለት ነው፤ እርቅ ይፈፀም ዘንድ ጠይቀናል እስካሁን ግን ምላሽ አልተገኘም ያሉት አባገዳዎቹ፤ አሁንም መንግስት የአቋም መግለጫችንን አይቶ እንዲያነጋግረን እንፈልጋለን፤ ለችግሮች ሁሉ ተወያተን መፍትሄ ማበጀት አለብን” ሲሉ መልዕክታቸውን አስተላልፈዋል፡፡
ተማሪዎቻችን መስከረም ላይ ወደ ትምህርት ይመለሳሉ፤ በችግሩ ዙሪያ ተወያይተን መፍትሄ አለመሰጠቱ ችግር ይፈጥራል፡፡ በማለት አስጠንቅቀዋል፡፡
ተቃውሞና ግጭቶችን ተከትሎ ያለህግ አግባብ የታሰሩ ዜጎች በአስቸኳይ እንዲፈቱም ጠይቀዋል – አባገዳዎቹ፡፡ “በኦሮሞ ልጆች ህይወት እየቀጠፋችሁና እያስቀጠፋችሁ ያላችሁ እንዲሁም የሃሰት ምስክርነት የምትሰጡ ወገኖች የገዳው ይፋረዳችኋል፡፡ በማስተር ፕላን ስም የከተማ መስፋፋት እንዲቆምና ገበሬዎች እንዳይፈናቀሉ የጠየቁ ሲሆን የኦሮሚያን ዳር ድንበር በመሸራረፍ ከሌሎች ህዝቦች ጋር የማጋጨት ስራ እንዲቆም፣ ከፊንፊኔ የአያት ቅድመ አያቶቻቸው መሬት በግፍ የተፈናቀሉ የኦሮሞ ልጆችም የመኖሪያ ቦታ ተመልሶ እንዲሰጣቸው በአቋም መግለጫቸው ጠይቀዋል “የአፋን ኦሮሞ የፌደራል መንግሥቱ ተጨማሪ ቋንቋ እንዲሆን እንጠይቃለን” ብለዋል – አባገዳዎቹ፡፡
አባገዳዎቹ ከ144 አመታት በኋላ 4 ስልጣኖችንም ለተመረጡ ግለሰቦች አስረክበዋል፡፡ በገዳ ስርአት ውስጥ ዘጠኝ ስልጣን ክፍፍሎች እንዳሉት ያብራሩት የቱለማ አባገዳ በየነ ሰንበቶ፤ በጉባዔው አቶ አበራ ቶላ አባ ሃዩ (ፕሬዚዳንት እንደማለት ነው) ሆነው ተመርጠዋል ብለዋል፡፡ የሪፍት ቫሊ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ባለቤት አቶ ድንቁ ደያስ አባ ዱላ (የጦር መሪ) በመሆን መመረጣቸውም ተገልጿል፡፡ አባ ዱላ የተመረጠው አሁን በተግባር ጦር አደራጅቶ ለመምራት ሳይሆን ባህሉ እንዳይጠፋ ለመጠበቅ እንደሆነ የገለፁት አባ ገዳው፤ ዋነኛ ተግባሩም ከ16-24 አመት ዕድሜያቸውን ወጣቶች ማደራጀትና የአባ ገዳውን ስልጣን ማስከበር ነው ብለዋል፡፡
በእለቱ የሴቶች ጉዳይ ሃላፊ (አዶ ስንቄ) መመረጡም ታውቋል፡፡

እኔ የሚገርመኝ ቁልቁል እንድናስብ ወያኔ በሚያመቻችልን ቱቦ በ”አባ ገዳ”ስም የሚደረጉትን ስብሰባዎች የሚካፈሉት ሰዎች እና አባ ገዳዎች ናቸው።አባ ገዳ እጅግ የቆየ የኦሮሞ ባህላዊ አስተዳደር ነው።አሁን ያለንበት የስልጣኔ ዘመን ይህን አይነትስ አስተዳደር ይፈቅዳል?ወደ ታች አንውረድ እንጂ!ወያኔ በባህል ስም ጠፍንጎ የኦሮሚያን ህዝብ ለማሰር ያመቻቸው መንገድ ነው።እየተስተዋለ ይሁን!ስሜትን ከአለም ተጨባጭ ሁኔታ ጋር ማገናዘብ ያስፈልጋል።ሌላው ኦሮምኛ የሀገሪቱ ሁለተኛ ቋንቋ ይሁን የሚል ጥያቄ ነው።ቋንቋን የሀገራችንን ችግር አናድርገው።የሀገራችንን መረጋጋትና ሰላም የማይፈልጉት ወያኔና አክራሪ ብሄር የሆኑ ግለሰቦች የሚቆፍሩትን ቋንቋዊ ጉድጓድ ህዝባችን አሽቀንጥሮ መጣል ይገባዋል።የቋንቋ ነገር በህዝቡ ፍላጎትና ውሳኔ ለአንዴና ለመጨረሻ ግዜ ወያኔ ተጠርጎ ሲጠፋ ይከናወናል።ከዚህ ውጭ ሀገርን አተራማሽ የሆኑ ወያኔያዊ የተቀነባበሩ ጥያቄዎች ለምንም አይጠቅሙም።በሶዶሬ የተደረገውም ስብሰባ የወያኔ ቅንብር ስለሆነ መወገዝ ይገባዋል

At 98, I could sense the firmness of his words despite his crackling voice.
Having seen what the Tigre regime has done to Oromos, Amaras, Afars, Somalis, Gurages, Somalis, Sidamas, Anuaks, and just about everyone else, people have learned. More importantly, what Woyanes have assaulted is our common humanity. They have left a deep scar that will be remembered for years. Woyanes have degraded us as people, they have degraded our thoughts, our actions and our discourse.
Whatever, the shortcomings of the previous feudal and murderous military regimes were, it was not our ethnicity that defined us then. Growing up at my beloved grandparents place, I never heard of the Woyane-generated lies about Amaras and Oromos in Gebre Gurach during my youth. We spoke both Oromifa and Amharic effortlessly. Both my grandparents had Amara and Oromo parents. Neither did I know nor had I cared to know their origins then.
I live as a ‘successful refugee’ in the West. My beautiful black skin is obviously a liability here. But invariably, it is my character and my basic humanity that has determined my relationship with my colleagues and neighbours. That character of respect and understanding for others forged over generations in a multicultural society like ours, has helped people like me to become prominent in our communities.
I could easily identify with my grandfather for his out condemnation of any deal with criminals he rightly referred to as beasts.
Hi Goje, except the Afan Oromo case, I agree with your comment. I know TPLF is using all the senario as a tool to silence the current struggle. But what would you lose if afan Oromo spoken as a second language in gojam? It further would promote unity and mutual understanding between Amharas and Oromos. In the past, I met some Gojames who got irritated not to speak but even to hear Afan Oromo while residing in Oromiya. But such a trend must change as it would be so silly and has no merit at such critical time. As the saying goes, “Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the Good”. Having said that, the current venue of Aba Gada still looks polarizing and lacks some important elements. What about the families who lost its innocent members who brutually murdered in day light? There should be justice! What about land grab? What about corruption? What about self autonomy/administration as set by article 39 and as the current unity would benefit only TPLF looters. Strategically, I believe even Amharas would lose nothing if they choose to be independent at such a time. Only TPLF elites, bussiness conglomerates, foreigners and Tigres will lose.

First thing first! Before anything else, every citizen has to be free and equal. Only free and equal citizens can discuss on issues,agree upon on anything that have mutual benefits. In the current global situations speaking four,five languages gives far too many opportunities than speaking only one’s regional language. It is in the interest of every individual to be able speak and write as many languages as he can.
Oromo language is widely spoken language. The region is an economic and a huge purchasing power. Anybody who wants to exploit this opportunity has to speak the language.and it is spoken. It is my preference if the alphabets were Amaharic to Latin. That way,I believe it will hold African root and Ethiopian origin.
We the citizens, our culture, our languages deserve much better.
The killing must stop. The government must be much more pressurized to come to terms and do better. Peace and understanding to all of us.
It was only the current federal constitution of Ethiopia that recognised and protected the rights and diversities of our peoples. No body can deny this fact. Untold succrifies was also paid to acieve this. There is nothing wrong if the Aba Geda, one of the oldest traditions of the Oromo is respected and play its part in contributing to the development of the nation. In fact people should know that it is going to be inscribed by UNESCO and we all should be proud that one of our intangible heritages is going to be recognised by the world body. Regarding Afan Oromo, it is one of the widely spoken languages in Ethiopia. As such again there is nothing wrong if it is used as one of the working languages of the federal government. However, are we ready to do this? Do we have the necessary preparations to excercise this? This is a matter to be discussed. But is not an issue to bring up during this time where we have other urgent national issues. In terms of languages, the constitution ensured equality of all of them. Secondly , every nation and nationalities is free to use its language. That is the most important thing in the new Ethiopia.
The Tigreans have liberated the Oromos from the Amhara colonial rule and now the liberated Oromos are administering themselves and practicing their traditions without any restrictions. The Addis Ababa master plan includes a package to develop Finfine and the Oromo region. Many investors specially the Tigreans have been investing in the city and region to contribute to the Development of Oromia. The EPRDF government should explain to the Oromos that they are the main beneficiaries of the plan and growing investment in the Oromia state. The government should ensure corruption free Investment in the region. The Oromos should also be told that the Amharas are conspiring to re-impose their Colonial rule on the region and exploit it.
