የትጥቅ ትግልና ግራ የሚያጋባ አስተያየት – ፕ/ር ጌታቸው ኃይሌ
በኢትዮጵያ ትከሻ ላይ የተቆለፈውን ቀምበር ለማላቀቅ ቍልፉ የትጥቅ ትግል መሆኑ በተነሣ ቍጥር ከአንዳንድ ሰዎች የሚሰጠው አስተያየት ግራ የሚያገባ ነው። ገዢዎቹና ደጋፊዎቻቸው ቢቃወሙ ይገባኛል። የሚሰጡት አስተያየት ግን ሕፃንን ሳይቀር የሚያሥቅ ነው። “ጦርነት በቃን” ይላሉ። “አትንኩን” ማለታቸውን የማናውቅ ይመስላቸዋል። ጦርነት ካላስፈለገ፥ ለምን ከንጉሣዊው አስተዳደር ጋር ተዋጉ? ለምን ከደርግ ጋር ተዋጉ? ጨቋኝ ገዢ የት አገር ነው በሌላ መንገድ ሥልጣን ለሕዝብ ሲለቅ የታየው? የምሥራቁ ዓለም ጨቋኞች የወደቁት በሕዝብ ዐመፅ ነው ማለት፥ የምዕራቡን ዓለም ከባድ እጅ ሚና መርሳት ይሆናል።
የኛዎቹ ጦርነት ከመረራቸው፥ ሕዝብን ወደጦርነት የሚመራ በደል አይሥሩበት። ምን ጊዜም ቢሆን የትጥቅ ትግል የመጨረሻው አማራጭ ነው። የትጥቅ ትግል የሚያደርሰው ጉዳት በአንዱ ወገን ላይ ብቻ አይደለም። መሣሪያ የሚያነሣ መሣሪያ ማንሣት የሚያመጣበትን ጉዳት ሳያውቅ አይነሣም። ሰው ሆኖ እንደከብት መገዛት ያልቻለ ሰው በቃኝ ሲል፥ ክብሩን በመጠበቁ ከተቀመጡበት ተነሥቶ “ነወር” የሚባል እንጂ፥ በባርነት ጥላ ሥር ተቀምጦ የሚተች አይደለም። “ጦርነት መርሮናል” የሚለውን ምክር መገዛት ለመረረው አይመክሩም።
ከዚሁ ጋር ተያይዞ የሚመጣ ግራ አጋቢ አስተያየት “ጦርነትስ አስፈላጊ ነው፥ ግን . . .” የሚለው ነው። ይህ አስተያየት በቅን አሳብ፥ የተሰጠ ሊሆን ይችላል። ግን አዛኝ መስሎ፥ ቀምበረኛውን ለመደገፍ የተሰጠ አስተያየት አለመሆኑ በምን ይታወቃል? እውነተኛ አሳቢና ሠጊ ሰው አስተያየቱን የሚሰጠው ሲጠየቅ፥ ካልተጠየቀም በግሉ ትጥቅ ያነሡትን ፈልጎ በጨዋ ደምብ መንገር ነው። ሳይጠየቁ ተነሥቶ በይፋ ምክር መስጠት ግን ሰሚው ሕዝብ ትግሉን እንዳይደግፍ መገፋፋት ነው። የትጥቅ ትግል ከታመነበት እንዲፋፋም የማይፈለግበት ምክንያት ምንድን ነው?
ትጥቅ ትግል የራስን ሕይወት ለወገን ነፃነት መሠዋት ማድረግ ነው። ሌላ ዓለማ የሌለው ሰው መሣሪያ ሲያነሣ፥ እንዴት ይኸንን የሚሰነዘርበትንና የሚሰነዘርለትን ምክር ሳያስብበት ራሱን ለመሥዋዕትነት ያቀርባል? የሚካኼደው የትጥቅ ትግል የሚያዋጣ የመሰለው እርዳታውን ያቅርብ፤ የማያዋጣ የመሰለው ለምንድን ነው የሚቃወመው? ተቃውሞው ማንን ለመጥቀም ነው? ለታጋዮቹ አስቦ ከሆነ፥ ከባለቤት ያወቀ ቡዳ ነው። “የኔን ያህል የማሰብ ችሎታ የላችሁም” ማለት ነው። እንዴት ነው ለታጋዮቹ ያልተገለጠ ሥጋት ለምክር ሰጪዎቹ የተገለጠው?
አንዳንዱ ደግሞ፥ “ይኸው እንታገላለን ሲሉ ዓመታት አሳለፉ፥ ግን አንዳች ውጤት አላሳዩም” ይላል፤ ውጤት እንዲያሳዩ የቀጠራቸውና ካልሆነላቸው የሚያሰናብታቸው ሹም ይመስል። አርፎ መቀመጥ ስንት ውጤት አሳየ? ሌሎችን ሙከራዎችም “አንዳች ውጤት አላሳዩም” ብለን እንንቀፋቸዋ!ውይስ ውጤት አሳይተዋል?
“በመካሄድ ላይ ያለው የትጥቅ ትግል ኢትዮጵያን የሚጎዳ ነው” ከተባለ፥ እርግጥ ሊታሰብበት ይገባል። ግን አሳሳቢው ምክንያት ሊቀበሉት በሚገባ መልኩ አልተሰጠንም። ይህ ትግል የሚያመጣው ጉዳት ከተሸከምነው ቀምበር ይበልጥ ሊከብድ እንደሚችል አሳዩን። የወያኔ ቀምበር መሰበር አለበት የምንል ሁሉ በመሰለንና በተቻለን መንገድ እንታገል። ካልተቻለን፥ ካልመሰለን፥ አርፈን እንቀመጥ፤ ታጋዮችን አለማደናቀፍ፥ እንደ ትግል እንዲቈጠርልን።

Dear Professor Getachew,
I have read your article, but I didn’t expect it to be that way. Well even within a family there is disagreement and differences of opinions. Ethiopia is a big nation and it is not entirely represented by one or two opposition groups in Asmara. Every Ethiopian is entitled to its opinion as the country belongs to all of us. The accommodation of various opinions is the hallmark of a healthy society.
Moreover, professor Haile may had been an outstanding scholar but it doesn’t mean you are an authority on the ground in Eritrea. Those people whom you criticized them are in fact has a good deal of experience with the Eritrean regime and its covert and overt intentions. Most importantly, the whole Eritrea’s saga is not about the simplistic interpretation of the choice some opposition made to struggle. It is about the consequences that our country is most likely to suffer.
I have had such a dry argument back in the 1990’s that a reasonable friend of mine argued on the necessity of the demise of DERGUE, despite the fact that I countered him TPLF and SHAEBIA are even a bigger liability to the national interest of Ethiopia. AS it turns out we had been the looser. If we were able to predict what the future holds, the best option was to reform Dergue than remove in that kind of obvious danger.
In my humblest view, Eritrea’s national interest is much more protected in weaker and divided Ethiopia than a democratic stable nation who will sooner or later assert its rightful demand. It is not a rocket science to understand the question of the Afar people and the red see coastline are a ticking time bomb that Eritrea would like to neutralize before it consumes her. I do not expect a respectable scholar like you will miss this point.
Therefore, reducing the fundamental question of Ethiopians to a trivial jealousy is not the way forward to the redemption of our nation.
Let me add one point. TPLF is sacrificing the interest of the nation in the western part of our country so as to block the salvation resistance. Therefore, what will stop the TPLF thugs to sacrifice Badme and even other significant resources to SHAEBIA on exchange to shut down the armed resistance in the north?
The other more concerning question is who will stop Shaebia if it encourages the separatist movements such as OLF, ONLF, etc by taking advantage of the instability within to dismember Ethiopia into smaller states as they share common interest?
Could you answer me these questions before negating someones citizenry right for a different opinion?
