This comment is absolutely spot on. I have seen yhis madness first-hand. Addis is dark at night in general. It is astounding to see that none of the new commercial buildings in downtown have lights after 7pm. Life basically ceases in the street of Addis after 8 or 9pm. The city becomes like a village, where you have to carry handheld flashlights or fire. Otherwise you will end up in an open manhole. Literally, walking in Addis at night sucks even in prominent areas like commerce college, ECA, Meskel Square, etc. It is really sad. When you get back home, you land onto another abyss. The light goes off while you are eating or making injera. I am not kidding, this happens at least twice a week. In the middle of a hot wedding ceremony, a black out happens, sending everyone in disarray. Or, while you console someone after the loss of their loved ones, darkness interrupts your visit. As Menilik pointed out, companies suffer from revenue loss because power outtage is unpredictable in Ethiopia. It can happen while they are having a video conference or fabricating their product. Too me, it was insane to see little generators infront of restaurants and shops in Addis. It shows how absent the government in improving the lives of ordinary people. And yet, they have no shame to tell us that the economy is growing in double digit, the country earns $123 million in electricity export, renewable energy is afoot in Ethiopia… Everything that woyane does is fake, it is fully choregraohed. It is tiring to watch their ho-hum act. Yes, the people are silent and don’t say anything against these hyenas in public. But make no mistake, the grievance of the Ethiopian people is at all time high. That was something I misunderstood before I went to Ethiopia. I used to confused their inaction with amenability. Is just a matter of time, this amateurish drama will end.
Rumor has it there’s a discussion to introduce bike transport in Addis. While this in theory would save energy and minimize pollution, its practicality is like Lewis Caroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I love riding a bike but i can’t imagine cycling in a crowded city like addis where cars and pedestrians share the roads. Ethiopians have this bizzare obsession with western culture. Specially, the woyane stooges and so-called third world elites think by just copying and pasting bits and pieces of western culture, they would catch up with modern civilization. You look around in Addis and find everything is an improvised and bastardized version of what you might have seen in Asia, Europe or America. There is no organic or bottom-up creativity. I have watched many TV dramas, listened to new songs and looked at the architecture, the entrainment industry, the fashion trend, the hospitality industry, the technology and day-to-day activity in people’s lives. It is incomprehensible to see how far Ethiopia has lost its originality and distinctivness. It is hurting that every single thing is copied from elswhere. And it is copied poorly and ill-fitted, often times very amateurish and childish. It appears we’ve become a junk yard of western cultural and technological riff-raff.

የኛ አገር እኮ በጣም ታሪከኛ ነች። ያለስራና ሃይል የምታድግ። እድሜ ለብድርና ርዳታ እንዲሁም እድሜ የትም ተልከው ሞተው የትም ስይቀበሩ ለቀሩ ወታደሮቻችን። በነሱ ደም እዳችንና GDP ያችን ያድጋል።
